2015 Subaru Forester XT

2015 Subaru Forester XT

Project Details:

Allison and her Husband just got this brand new 2015 Subaru Forester from the dealer. Knowing about the cold Nebraska winters they had ordered the factory dealership add on remote car starter. After a couple days of having it installed they were not happy with the functionality and the range (roughtly 50 feet) that it supplied, the car dealership gladly refunded them their money and removed the remote start. They started shoping around for a remote car starter at local stereo shops. and came into GP Customs looking for different options. They were shopping around for the best option with long distance range and confirmation. After educating them on the different brands we carried and the different range options they decided to go with a Compustar Slice Jr. which carries 3000ft of range with start confirmation. Allison was still not 100% convinced that this would always give them the range they needed, Enter : Drone Mobile.  With Drone Mobile they would never be limited on range or confirmation while starting their vehicle. They would be able to use any smartphone (or multiple smartphones) to start the vehicle from anywhere with cellular service.

In remote start conversation Allison's husband mentioned he had wished the vehicle had came with Navigation. We promptly responded with our solution to the problem: Pioneers AVIC-5000NEX. This is a factory looking double din touchscreen mutimedia reciver that would replace the factory radio. It would upgrade them to Bluetooth Streaming and Handsfree, a DVD player, Navigation, USB/AUX input for charging and audio streaming, and also the new cutting edge Apple Car Play. With Apple Car Play you can simply tell Siri what you are looking for and it will automatically be beamed to your multimedia touchscreen with options to call the desired location or map out turn by turn directions to the location. More handsfree equals safer driving. The unit also had backup camera inputs so we integrated the factory backup camera so it would be displayed on the larger aftermarket screen. We flush mounted a couple USB ports and an AUX input to give it a factory appearance, and tied it into the OEM steering wheel controls. The customer was extremely happy with how the project turned out. This is a great example of how an aftermaket multimedia system can look like factory in a vehicle,
